This year coronavirus got us real hard. In order to save economy and continuing our work, many people are opting for 'work from home' strategy. It is definitely a huge success among the pandemic, but it has certain drawbacks for the employees if they are not careful enough.
Hence, in order to keep away from any more of negative effects of this pandemic, indirectly or directly, here's some points to keep in mind while you work from home :
1. Stick To Your Sleep Cycle :
You might be in your comfort zone but your work hasn't stopped yet. And therefore, minimum sleep is necessary. Poking your sleep cycle can bring effects on your work as well as your health.
2. Ready To Go :
"Prepping for your day is a signal to your brain that it's not a weekend, and you're not sick. That will get your mind ready for the workday, " suggests Christine Carter, PhD, a sociologist and senior fellow of the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California in Berkeley.
So yes, putting your formal pants on or wearing the shoes might help your brain to get into the work mode, in case you're experiencing too much "at home" vibes. Go on!
3. Workspace :
To prevent the "at home" vibes which disturb you while working, get out of that bed and walk into your workplace. Design it like it is meant for work, like an office. Use the tables, chairs, lamps, some documents and definitely take the bed or sofa out of there. And see for yourself if it works for you.
4. Add Breaks :
Don't get yourself too much into that "just work" environment. Take breaks. Be calm. Stop stressing. Use reminders to stretch and grab a coffee. It will definitely make your way through work more comfortable and you will be able to work for a prolonged period of time.
5. Eat Good :
Don't forget the three important meals of the day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stay hydrated. Place the bottle near your table and keep the water reminder on. Don't keep grazing all day long, but grab some snacks in between. Avoid fast food at working hours as much as possible. Bon appetit!
6. No Overtimes :
"Do not stretch over the limits. Or else, you might end up hurting yourself," this rule of exercise ends up in the rule list for working too. Working overtime for continuous hours may lead to back stiffness, abdominal problems and other and hand and finger related problems. Neck strains could become common and you might feel tired. Hence, stick to work limit and do not cross the line.
7. You Time :
We all need that "me time". It's necessary. Don't forget it, especially, when you are at 'work from home' mode. Work load can cause stress and to avoid it, execute your hobbies. Do what you want to do and what makes you happy. It will help you to keep away all the negative thoughts and bring more positivity to keep you smiling during these hard times.
